Why Does Pepsi Hate Itself?
As the Cola War continues, it seems pretty clear that Pepsi has no intention of ever being the market leader. They succeeded in the 70’s and 80’s with the blind taste tests that arguably favored Pepsi’s sweeter flavor, and it caused one of Coca-Cola’s biggest blunders to date: the abomination known as New Coke. Pepsi also focused their marketing on the younger generation and casting Coca-Cola as the uncool cola grownups drink.
They’ve occasionally neglected this strategy, but no more apparent than today’s desperate attempt at fitting in with their cherished Millennials.
